Amazon of Wall Decoration - Bayeux Tapestry
The bayeux tapestries are so very popular it is at times truly amazing. Over 800 people search the web everyday looking for the bayeux tapestry. Do you even know what it’s all about?
A long time ago Normandy invaded England and won in the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The Bayeux tapestry is 230 feet long and 20 inches high and hangs in Bayeux France in a museum. Part of this incredibly long wall hanging is missing, so the last few events of how the battle ended are a mystery in the weaving. 77 scenes from the battle and events leading up to it are intact and tell a fascinating tale of King Harold of England and William the Conqueror from Normandy.
It’s quite a story and several beautiful wall hanging designs are taken from this historical work of art and reproduced into newly woven reproductions of this major event. They look nice, too. Woven in France, Belgium and right here in the USA, too.
